Launching Member Makes and Makeovers

Here at CCORRN we really love what we do, we really do!

We love getting messy in the name of saving the planet - just look at our overalls, they're more like colour cards than clothing.

One thing we love more than testing and making paint or collecting and sorting resources for the scrapstore; is seeing and hearing what members are making and creating with their purchases.

We encourage you to take before and after photos or better still, take lots of photos or video clips so we can make tutorial print outs or even mini movies to help inspire others.

Not everyone lives on Facebook which is where we have shared a lot of these creations to date so we have decided to use this blog part of our website for this purpose. We might pop in the odd guest post if we feel the content might be of interest to you.

Additionally we will be creating a regular members' e-newletter. If you've given us your email already you should recieve one in a few weeks time and if you haven't we will have a subscribe button added to our website in the near future.

So if you have photos of things you've made or rooms you've given a 'makever' to; please share them with us either via Facebook or via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you'd like to submit a blog post to us it is probably best to sendus it by email, ideally with photos.

Thank-you so much for all your stories we'd love to hear and see more fo them.

CCORRN is a partnership between the community, public and private sector that was started in early 2003. Financial support was awarded to Cambridgeshire County Council for its establishment, from DEFRA's Recycling Challenge Fund and Enventure.

CCORRN's goal when incepted was to successfully increase the quantity of community reuse and recycling projects in the County. CCORRN is now a Company Limited by Guarantee with its Directors made up of volunteers from all the sectors involved. One full time staff member is employed as the 'Community Recycling Network Organiser' to carry out the work programme set by the Management Committee.

In the second year 2004, the network continued to build upon the first year's success. This included providing 'Seedcorn' funding for project start ups as well as holding events, workshops and visits to allow the dissemination of knowledge and best practice. By assisting groups in defining/developing and bid writing they were able to secure additional funding to develop and expand their operations.
